30th June:
Dr. Ambedkar Life and Mission partly shooting in Jalgaon:

Anshum Ingle directed "Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Life and Mission" info-series is being partly shot in Jalgaon district. Series has 365 episodes and would be broadcasted on Discovery Channel group's History Channel. It is based on Yashwant Manohar, Prabhakar Dupare and Late Dhananjay Kir wrote book.
District shooting points include Bhusawal, Jalgaon and Chalisgaon. It would be broadcasted every month 22nd day at 9PM in English and would later be broadcasted in 35 languages.

Madhukar Co-operative sugar factory term election:
Administration is likely to announce notification today for term election of Madhukar co-operative sugar factory Faizpur. Forms availability and nomination filling would begin from 01st July. District administration has prepared this notification and is publishing the same today. Factory has 22 seats for board of directors and the whole election process would take 40 days. Election is likely on 07th or 08th August.

29th June:
Monsoon arrival and viral diseases spread control:

District health authorities have received a total of 901 cases in last 3 years for gastro spread due to contaminated drinking water. This includes 15 deaths following disease severity. Authority has announced wide spread measures this year to control such spread.
It has formed one action group under additional district health officer and one group each and every taluka and at 77 primary health centers in district. Every group has been availed with adequate medicines, glucose, laboratory and vehicle for movement. Amongst other instructions include adequate use of bleaching powder and O. T. Test in supply tanks through village panchayat and supply of grade-1 TCL powder.

District administration publishes final listing for farmer debt waiver:
District's 106,243 are getting benefited under central government's announced farmer debt waiver scheme. This would amount to 230.97 Crores from various banks including JDCC, Nationalised and Co-operative banks. This includes JDCC bank's 83,535 with 162.33 Crores, land-development bank's 2,210 farmers with 8.09 Crores, Nationalised bank's 20,337 members with 59.94 Crores and urban co-operative banks with 162 members having 61 Lakhs debt.

Jalgaon wins 1 gold and 2 silver medal in state ground competition:
District boys have won one gold medal and two silver medals in recently conducted junior athletics competition at Amravati. Sachin Ramdas Bhoi won first by throwing 38.48mm in 20-years group hammer through competition while Kapil Sirohi secured second rank in 1,500 meters taking 4.08 minutes. Jalgaon girls group secured second rank in 4x100 meters relay in under-18 category.

28th June:
Administration distributes 6.43 Crores to DPDC:

Jalgaon district administration has distributed 6.43 Crores to district planning and development committee for its planned various developmental works. This fund is first 3 months planned budget and has been allocated at once for first time. Committee has a total budget of 86.30 Crores for the whole year and administration has received 52.43 crores of these funds at once.
This prospect fund include 1.80 Crores for roads and transportation related works, 3 Crores for soil conservation and water resource works, 40.20 Lakhs for medical services and rest for miscellaneous works.

Mission admission - 45,000 students for FYJC admission:
SSC result is announced and has around 44,939 students passing and now looking for FYJC (Class XI) admission. There are 33,500 seats for various streams in XI. This includes 19,500 in Arts, 8,500 in science and 5,500 in commerce. Region this year has many new colleges opening and a few in processes that could take total intake capacity to 40,000+.

District council members to receive 2.25 Lakhs under 12th finance commission:
12th finance commission is availing 2.25 Lakhs to every district council (ZP) member for developmental works execution. Jalgaon district council has 67 members and this fund availed is aimed at road concreting works, village panchayat offices building, crematorium and other related works.

27th June:
Girls top in SSC result 2008:

Maharashtra State board of secondary and higher secondary education has announced SSC results 2008 yesterday. Khandesh region has performed exceptionally well with result of 90.46% marks. Dhule girl's high school student Kalyani Krishna Suryawanshi topped Nashik division and girls category results. Chalisgaon student Dhanshree Pitambar Patil ranked second in division and first in district with 95.07% marks. Aman Chaudhari from Khedi-Bhokari (Chopda) topped boys in district with 94.46% marks. District's overall SSC result is at 87.38% marks. Jalgaon city schools have registered 92.09% result with 12 English medium schools having 100% result.

Monsoon arrival pleases region - 218mm rainfall recorded:
Jalgaon city and rest of district witnessed medium showering rain yesterday totaling to 218mm. This includes Erandol on top with 42mm, Bhadgaon - 30mm, Pachora - 28.3mm, Dharangaon - 17mm, Parola - 16.6mm, Jalgaon - 16.1mm, Chopda - 4.5mm and Chalisgaon - 4mm.

District health authority announces monsoon preparations:
District health department and malaria control department have announced various groups and action plan for viral diseases spread control in monsoon this year. Authorities are taking wide spread blood samples to analyse malaria, dengue, chicken gunya, Japanese encephalitis. Authorities have setup 71 malaria centers and are introducing wide spread measures to control the spread.

26th June:
SSC 2008 result today:

Maharashtra state board of secondary and higher secondary education Pune is announcing SSC 2008 result today. District's around 59,000 students appeared for this exam from 124 centers. Result would be available with School and board website http://mahresult.nic.in after 11AM.

Monsoon pours in whole district:
Entire Jalgaon district witnessed wonderful raining last night. Jalgaon city, Bhusawal, Amalner, Chopda and Parola had medium to heavy raining reported through late nights yesterday. District administration has confirmed to life losses and causalities due to this raining. Farmers have expressed satisfaction on good raining arrival ending their woes on cultivation. Bhadgaon had maximum rain yesterday scaling to 11mm. District has received total of 5.1% raining by now as compared to last year's 11.56mm by this time. Bhusawal city had raining for around 1 hour in afternoon while faizpur had showers since morning.

Corporation expedites 40 Crores in development in last 5 years:
Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation has expedited 40 Crores for various developmental works in City. It has spared 2.52 Crores for primary education in 2003-04, 64.67 Lakhs in 2004-05, 92.84 Lakhs in 2005-06, 5.03 Lakhs in 2006-07 and 5.55 Crores in 2007-08. Amongst other expenses include 7.72 Crores on cleanliness, 32.63 Lakhs for hospitals maintenance and medicines, 6.86 Crores for roads development and 8.57 Crores on water supplies.

Monsoon delay troubles farmers in region:

District farmers are facing harsh time on sudden change of good monsoon raining arrival. Region has around 90% cultivation done for the season but has no rainfall since last 10 days. Many a region farmers are still waiting for good raining to begin cultivation. Standing pre-monsoon crop is also facing fungal infections.
Bhadgaon taluka witnessed raining for around 1 hour yesterday evening. Raining began around 4.30PM in afternoon in medium to showery form all around the region.
As a result of this mixed status and no clear vindication, farmers are likely to change cultivation policy especially in terms of selection of seeds.

Administration introduces e-library for government resolutions:
Jalgaon district administration has set up e-library of around 12,000 state government resolutions. The department-wise library aims at facilitating officers/ citizens on retrieving various state orders from time to time. The 50,000 e-pages library of around 12,000 GR has been setup at NIC office in Collectorate. Administration aims to add 5,000 more GR to this library.

District council general body meeting review:
Jalgaon district council general body met yesterday to discuss various topics on its agenda. The opposition party members boycotted meet on account of mess up and no discussions being conducted on distribution of 12th finance commission grants. Body approved all topics on its agenda in 10 minutes and rejected 2 proposals for KT dam and printing stationery.
Amongst major approvals include 20% funds for backward development, 47 vehicles for healthcare department, and special additional funds for animal husbandry and special loans for Panchayats from rural development fund.

Jalgaon's 8 selected State softball team:
District's 8 players have been selected in state softball team to participate in national softball competition in senior's category at Chandigarh from 25th June. This includes Millind Talele as trainer, Jayant Jadhav, Rohit Joshi, Suraj Patond, Kishor Chaudhari in men's category and Amruta Pathak, Neelam Jadhav, Deepali Pawar and Madhuwanti Pargaonkar in girl's competition.

24th June:
Maharashtra wins National women's football championship:

District football association conducted 31st national women's football championship ended yesterday with Maharashtra defeating Orissa by 4-3 in tie breaker. Mumbai defeated Jharkhand by 4-3 in tie breaker to secure third rank. Maharashtra team has won this competition for the first time. Both teams tied to one each in assigned time.
Indian women's football team has been announced from this qualifying championship. The newly announced Indian team has Jalgaon's Varsha Khadke as team manager. Anita Baske (Jharkhand) has won maximum goal (7 goals) award, Priyanka Singh (UP) has won best goalkeeper, Manisha Jadhav Mumbai has received best player - half position, Uppal Herpam Jharkhand received best defence and Jaspin Hassa Orissa received best player of the tournament awards.

NMU's Dr. Bhushan Chaudhari receives 30 Lakhs grant from Bio-technology department:
North Maharashtra University Jalgaon School of life sciences lecturer Dr. Bhushan Chaudhari has received Government of India Department of Bio-technology grant of Rs. 30 Lakhs for research works on folic acid and vitamin b-12 pro-biotic bacteria. He presented this paper in international pro-biotic council at Slovakia from 04th until 07th June.

Farmer debt waiver - Administration gets final listing:
District administration has received list of outstanding debt farmers from various co-operative and Nationalised banks under Central government announced farmer debt waiver scheme. Latest listing has estimated 1.10 Lakh farmers getting benefits of 221 Crores with JDCC Bank on top having 162 Crores outstanding with farmers followed by Nationalised banks with 59 Crores. It has issued notices to 3 nationalised bankers on not availing data relating to this requirement. JDCC bank entire listing is available through its 249 branches and 876 different member societies. This figure would rise further after complete listing from various nationalized banks having not yet submitted figures.

23rd June:
Jalgaon's pulses business in danger following pulses export ban:

Jalgaon's another widely accepted specialty of pulses trading is getting in danger. Central government's Pulses ban since last 2 years has led to shut down of almost 50+ pulses mills and turnover has sliced to half. Jalgaon had flourishing pulses business 3 years ago and region's rich agricultural base in grains along with dry weather flourished this further.
If the same June 2006 ban continues, region's pulses industries would have to look into alternatives. Many are in weaker financial state following introduction of commodity trading and lower actual transactions.

National women's football championship - Maharashtra and Orissa in finals:
Host Maharashtra has defeated powerful Jharkhand by 1-0 to enter into finals of national women's football championship along with Orissa that defeated Mumbai by 1-0. Final match would be played today afternoon at 4PM followed by Mumbai versus Jharkhand match for 3rd place.

Hatnur turns low - mere 23.2% storage available:
District's water storage dams are now turning low with expectation of good monsoon arrival. Hatnur is having just 23.2% storage. It supplies water to around 240 villages along with Bhusawal, Savda, Raver and Malkapur and has major storage of Tapi River.

22nd June:
City's 60% population gets daily drinking water:

After years of woes and panic on drinking and regular water supplies, Jalgaon city's 60% populace is now getting daily drinking water. Waghur dam has washed out Jalgaon water woes for now. Every political party is attempting for best of political benefit of this dam by inaugurating water supplies at every area level.
Corporation's upcoming election is key catalyst to full speed deployment of this facility. Administration is availing 100-110 liters per person water supply in city and aims to complete rest 40% area in upcoming month period.

National women football championship:
Mumbai team defeated MadhyaPradesh by 6-0 remarkable win in yesterday's quarter final play. This has ended Chattisgarh rally in the championship. In another match, Maharashtra and Orissa match tied. Today's semis play includes Maharashtra versus Jharkhand and Mumbai playing against Orissa.

21st June:
National women's football championship - Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Orissa enters Quarter finals:

Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Orissa have entered into quarter finals of ongoing national women's football championship at Jalgaon. MadhyaPradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh have moved out following 2 defeats. Maharashtra defeated Andhra by 3-0. Mumbai and Chattisgarh are striving for entry into quarters.

NMU amends ATKT norms and internal exam scoring pattern:
North Maharashtra University Jalgaon management council has announced significant policy change in first year arts and science students' examination. If a student fails due to internal exam score, then respective colleges should arrange for supplementary exam and send revised marks. It has also amended ATKT norms availing maximum of 2 subjects ATKT for first year Arts student and maximum 4 subjects for first year Science student.

District's 201 farmers to receive State aid for sugarcane:
Jalgaon's 201 farmers from Bhusawal, Yaval, Raver, MuktaiNagar and Bodwad would receive State's special aid for lying sugarcane amounting to 46.52 Lakhs. District administration has received Bhusawal divisional report stating 61 villages' 201 farmers having 186.01 hectares farm land under sugarcane cultivation. Administration would now send this review to State for further action.

Farmer suicide aid committee meeting review:
District committee for availing special aid to families of farmers committing suicide met yesterday to review 20 proposals received. It has approved 12, rejected 5 and rest 3 have been kept pending.

20th June:
SSC 2008 result on 26th June:

Maharashtra State board of secondary and higher-secondary education is announcing SSC 2008 result on 26th June, 11AM. Result would be available on board website from 11AM onwards along with schools.

Farmers complete 9% cultivation:
District agricultural authorities have reported 9% cultivation work done in this Kharip season. Farmers are now waiting for pouring rain to give a good start. There is showery to very low raining in whole region and if situation continues until next week, farmers will have to re-cultivate.
This Kharip season has 373,523 hectares under Cotton, 145,900 hectares under Jwar, 60,800 hectares under Urid (Bean), 40,000 hectares under Moog (mash bean) and 26,800 hectares under Bazra cultivation.

District's 77,339 farmers benefit from central debt waiver:
Jalgaon district 77,339 farmers are getting benefited from Central government announced farmer debt waiver scheme with debts totaling to 163.80 Crores. Concerned banks are interacting with lead banker NABARD on this matter to arrive at final listing.
Current available statistics suggest 118.92 Crores debt with 59,192 member farmers at Co-operative banks and 44.88 Crores debt with 18,137 farmers. District administration plans to distribute debt waiver certificates on 25th June and has assured of new loans availability to these farmers by 30th June.

Railways cancel Surat Bhusawal passenger for 3 days:
Central Railways Bhusawal division has announced cancellation of Bhusawal - Surat Passenger for 3 days from time following downpour in Kolkata region leading to delay in trains. Most of trains leading from Howrah and towards Delhi area are delayed resulting in traffic overloading.

National football championship:
Maharashtra team made winning note entry in National women football championship yesterday by defeating UP with 3-0. In another match Jharkhand defeated Mumbai with 2-0, Chattisgarh defeated MadhyaPradesh with 4-0 and Orissa won over Andhra by 5-0.
Today matches are - Jharkhand versus MadhyaPradesh, Mumbai Vs Chattisgarh in Group A and Maharashtra versus Andhra Pradesh with Uttar Pradesh versus Orissa.

Nashirabad art teacher Shyam Kumawat wins National award:
Nashirabad New English School Art teacher Shyam Kumawat has won first prize in Relic Art conducted by Lalit Kala Academ. His 'Nal-Damyani' creature made from fiber won this award comprising of memento and 5,000 Cash Prize.

MTS exam - Jalgaon district result announced:
Maharashtra talent search (MTS) exam conducted on 27th January result is out. Class III student Rahul Millind Patil and Ramchandra Narkar Bhargao have topped in State in boys with 282 marks of 300 along with Snehal Nilesh Dhake top with 280 marks in girls. Class VI student Makrand Milind Desai and Priyanka Dayanand Bendre have topped in State with 276 marks. This is an optional exam aiming at enhancing students capabilities thus helping in good results in State conducted scholarship exam in IV and VIII.

19th June:
National women football championship begins in Jalgaon:

National women's football championship competition was inaugurated yesterday at district sports complex. Inaugural ceremony followed with exhibition match with Jharkhand defeating Maharashtra by 2-0. Maharashtra team is in B group. A group has Jharkhand, Mumbai, MadhyaPradesh and Chattishgarh while B group has Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Orissa.

Pachora taluka seeds and pesticides association protest strike:
This year's pesticides and fertilizers distribution has come with pain, political and administrative interference leading to severe difficulties for traders. The Pachora Taluka Seeds and pesticides association made a protest strike yesterday following sudden entries of political party supporters into member shops, checking and throwing documents and related concerns and harassing with claims of traders making mandatory for farmers to buy other medicines along with pesticides. Association has unanimously decided not to buy even a single pack of pesticides unless administration comes with strong measures to curb such political interests and harassments.

Khote Nagar and Nimkhedi to get Waghur dam water from today:
Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation administration has completed line laying works for Waghur dam water supplies to Khote Nagar and Nimkhedi area in city. It is inaugurating water supplies today at Nimkhedi, Khote Nagar, Nivrutti Nagar and Dada Wadi with a setup of 28 Lakh liters new water storage tank in Khote Nagar. City now has 90% water supplies covered through Waghur dam and rest 10% work is also in final pace.

Corporation term-election preparatory measures announced:
State Election Commission has announced Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation electoral roll program as first step towards election. It has taken assembly elections roll as base electoral roll for this term election and has ordered publishing of electoral by 14th July, ward-wise listing by 19th July followed by comments and suggestions and final publication on 02nd August.

Jalgaon Airport review meeting at Mumbai:

Maharashtra Airport development Company has availed Rs. 4 Crores fund to district administration in its review meet for Airport development. Administration has completed its land measuring for acquiring required 244 hectares land and estimated 1 year time to complete acquisition process.

National women's football championship begins today in Jalgaon:
District Women football association and its State unit jointly conducted National Women's football competition is beginning today at District Sports complex. Inauguration ceremony is on 4PM today afternoon followed by exhibition match. Ceremony is also having many Marathi film Stars/ serial fame actresses' arrival for viewing. Competition tickets are available throughout district.

Government employees/ staff Co-operative Society election results:
Jalgaon district Government employees/ staff co-operative credit society election results were announced yesterday. Ruling Lokmanya Panel has won clear majority with 17 of 27 seats followed by Sahakar Panel with 9 and Pragati Panel just opening its account. Votes counting took lot of time as voting was conducted through manual process and clear result was announced by midnight.

State Softball team selection on 20th June in Jalgaon:
District softball association is hosting State Softball association conducted selection test on 20th June. Selected team would participate in Softball association of India conducted national competition from 25th until 30th June at Chandigarh. Selection test has practice matches on 21st and 22nd and is likely to have participation of many teams from throughout State.

17th June:
Chalisgaon Swapnil Amrutkar tops in State High School Scholarship examination:

Chalisgaon A. B. Boys High School student Swapnil Chandan Amrutkar has topped urban area State High School Scholarship examination (Class VII) by scoring 286 out of 300 marks. Satkheda (Dharangaon) Ashram School student Ganesh Sakharam Pawara and Hingone Bk ZP School student Harish Prakash Patil along with Tamaswadi (Parola) ZP student Mayur Santosh Patil have topped rural area listing by scoring 300 out of 300 marks.
Jalgaon district's 21 students that includes 7 from Pre-Primary (Class IV) and 14 from Secondary (Class VII) have appeared in State merit list. In Pre-primary section, 39,465 appeared and 27,353 cleared yielding 69.31% result. In High School scholarship, 26,717 students appeared and 11,092 succeeded generating 41.52% result. In all 933 students have qualified for scholarship.

District administration approves 14 Crores ambitious water recharging plan:
District administration has approved Rs. 14 Crores expenditure budget for ambitious water recharging through rain water in rivers, Canals and well. District plan this year has special mention of this scheme and has immediately availed Rs. 7 Crores towards this. Irrigation department has proposed 7 works in this regards

National women's football championship 2008:
District women football association hosted National Women's football competition 2008 preparations are in final stage. All teams are likely to arrive by today evening with competition beginning from 18th until 22nd June. Association has arranged for accommodation inside stadium's 40 rooms while team referee and other managerial would get accommodation at different tied up hotels and guest houses.
Jalgaon's player Meghna Chavan has been selected in State team along with Jalgaon based Prof. Mirza amongst 12 referees.

Shirpur soon to have 100 Crores textile park:

Central Government has approved 100 Crores estimated Textile Park in Shirpur. This would avail employment to around 4,000 workers in region. Park would be set up in Shirpur - Chopda road based co-operative factory location. Central Government would avail 40 Crores fund and rest 60 Crores would be raised through Company formation.

Government Employees co-operative society (G.S.) election:
Jalgaon district Government staff/ employee Co-operative society election went peacefully yesterday with 71.53% voting. In all 20,891 of 29,203 members exercised their voting. There are 95 candidates in fray for 27 seats.

Sanesh Talele wins bronze in international Karate competition:
District Karate sports association player and Bhusawal native Sanesh Talele has won bronze medal in 14th International Shitorio Karate competition at Kathmandu in Nepal.

Railways soon to have private general ticket booking counters:
Central Railways Bhusawal division is setting up 30 private party operated Jan-Sadharan Ticket booking service (JTBS) counters throughout its area. This includes 4 private counters in Jalgaon one each at Mahabal Bus stop, Sindhi Colony, Dada Wadi and Khwajamiya Chowk area, 3 at Bhusawal at Nahata College Chowk, Yaval-Jalgaon Road and Shivaji Nagar along with 3 at Chalisgaon at Bus Stand area, Malegaon - Dhule Road and Bazaar Peth area. These counters would have same rate at that of Railway operated counters with commission for services.

Jalgaon wins State Tug of War competition in 3 categories
Jalgaon team has won 440, 480 and 560 Kg category of 10th State Junior and sub-junior tug of war competition played at Akkalkot. Team won 2 categories in last year.

Jalgaon Airport development - Administration completes land measurements:

Jalgaon district administration has completed measurement of its required 244 hectares of land in airport nearby location for developing airport. It is likely to give final shape to this measurement statistics on Monday and announce further steps. It has set target of 1 year to complete land acquisition process.
Land measured has 14.78 hectares of rich fertile land, 15 hectares of semi-fertile land and rest as plain land. This acquisition would turn 64 farmers as landless, 40 as low-land owner, 8 as very-low land owner and rest normal totaling to 132 farmers. Government is in think mode for applying rehabilitation act for farmers loosing land in this acquisition. This act would avail minimum agricultural rates based 68 Rs. per day aid of 750 days for those turning landless, 500 days aid for turning acute land owner and 375 days aid for those turn low land owner. It expect aid of around 45.56 Lakhs in this whole acquisition process along with land acquisition aid from State.

District students shine in MH-CET exam:
Jalgaon district's many students have shown remarkable performance in MH-CET 2008 result announced yesterday. Jalgaon based Urwashi Rajendra Bhalode has scored 194 out of 200 and secured first rank. She also topped district in HSC result. Gauri Satish Naik has topped PCB group in district with 190 out of 200 marks. Dhule student Deepak Sarejrao Pawar has topped in Khandesh by scoring 196 out of 200 marks.

Government Employees co-operative society (G.S.) term election voting today:
Jalgaon district Government staff/ employees co-operative society's (G.S. Society) term election voting is being conducted today for 27 seats. There are 95 candidates in fray.
Society was established in 1909 and has around 33,000 members with 29,202 to exercise their voting. It would celebrate its Centennial year in 2009. There are 48 polling booths at all taluka head quarters with adequate security arrangements.

Public Court verdicts around 200 cases of farmers loosing land in Waghur dam acquisition:
District Court set up special Public Court yesterday has verdict on around 200 cases of Chinchkheda (Taluka: Jamner) farmers having lost their land in State acquisition for Waghur dam. All these cases were pending since last 7 years. Farmers would now get 172,000 per hectare rate from State within 7 months of Order.

Maharashtra Airport Development Company approves Jalgaon Airport development work:

Maharashtra Airport Development Company 22nd General Body meeting held yesterday in Mumbai has approved Jalgaon, Solapur and Shirdi Airport development works. It proposes to extend and develop Jalgaon's existing airport land with extended nearby land totaling to 250 hectares at estimated budget of 263 Crores. Technical feasibility reports have denied possibility of Airport in Dhule.

MH-CET 2008 result today:
Maharashtra Health, Engineering and Pharmacy exam MH-CET 2008 result is being announced today at DMER website. District's 6,225 students appeared for this exam. This includes 3,315 for Medical, 829 for Pharmacy and rest 2,110 for engineering.

Sugarnomics 2008 - Madhukar sugar factory ends its processing:
Madhukar co-operative sugar factory Faizpur has ended it's 32nd processing of sugarcane processing on 12th June. It has completed 555,295 metric tones of sugarcane and has produced 535,850 bags of sugar. Factory is exporting sugar for first time.
Factory area had 9,276 hectares of sugarcane cultivation and still has 275 hectares of sugarcane lying following processing ending. This processing is amongst top performances of factory in recent decade.

Rajesh Jadhav appointed as chief for baton relay department:
District athletics association secretary Rajesh Jadhav along with Thane based Sushil Inamdar has been appointed as Nashik divisional head for National youth sports competition at Pune. Divisional representation includes Jalgaon, Nashik, Thane, Dhule and Nandurbar.

State Cricket competition - Jalgaon defeats Pune:
Jalgaon team continues to demonstrate is outstanding play in ongoing Under-19 State Cricket competition in Nashik. It has defeated Pune by One inning and 204 runs in match at Aurangabad. Jalgaon's earlier match versus Hingoli was cancelled following raining.
Pune scored 84 runs in its first inning. In response Jalgaon scored 370/8 runs and bowled out Pune on mere 80 runs. Jalgaon has made 3 clear wins and 2 win based on inning leads out of its all 5 played. Team is on top of table in its group by scoring 22 points by now.

Corporation standing committee meeting extends Octroi tender until 31st July:
Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation Standing committee met yesterday to review various topics on agenda. It has extended existing Octroi tender to 31st July 2008 and has also approved Rs. 10.15 Lakhs for road concreting in Ward#1, Nimkhedi Shivar Block#101.
Existing Octroi and escort fees tender ends on 04th July and this extension would continue Octroi until 31st July at existing rates. Octroi collecting private party has reported significant decrease of 1 Lakh Rupees per day in revenue collection following moving out of Supreme Industries.

Corporation general body meeting review:

Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation general body met yesterday and discussed various topics in its agenda. It has approved 8 topics on its agenda. Amongst major discussions include approval of City Bus Service covering 15kms city area. Body approved forming of City Corporation Bus Service and its charges. Body has approved development of Mehrun Lake Chowpaty, 50 Lakhs for Hindu and Muslim Crematorium development. It has also approved 150 Crores budgetary proposal for laying new water supplies lines in whole city under Central government's U.I.D.S.S.M.T. scheme. Proposal plans lying of 250kms of pipe lines in 12 zones. It has already setup one new water supply tank with 39 Lakh liters capacity and 7 tanks each with 28 Lakh liters storage capacity.
Body member revealed that Administration has paid 60.21 Lakhs additional amount to V. V. Municipal Market (Golani Market) Contractor. Administration is conducting further Inquiry into this matter.

Mruga Nakshatra raining arrives in whole region:
Entire Jalgaon district witnessed Mruga Nakshatra monsoon raining yesterday evening for more than half an hour. Raining began with high wind flow and continued in full pace. Jalgaon City and surrounding region had cloudy atmosphere since morning and this rainfall has significantly pleased climate.

State Sub-junior Petanque tournament begins today in Jalgaon:
District Petanque association conducted State sub-junior Petanque competition is beginning today in Jalgaon at Dr. Patil Medical College. Competition has 10 girl teams and 20 boys' team participating in competition.
Petanque originated from France and began in India in 2004. This game has been approved by World Olympics. Until now Hingoli and Nanded have hosted National competitions.

District administration orders assessment of pending sugarcane:

Jalgaon district administration has ordered all Tahsil offices to asses pending sugarcane with farmers. It has primarily estimated around 3,800 hectares of sugarcane lying with farmers. State has announced special aid of Rs. 25,000 per hectare as a relief measure. The Chopda Co-operative Sugar factory region is expected to be highest pending zone.
District's all sugar factories have ended this season's sugarcane processing. Vasant and Belganga Sugar factories have reported administration of no sugarcane stocks lying in their respective region. Administration is planning to form village-wise committee to asses this pending stock.

Muktai Palakhi moves for Pandharpur:
Khandesh and Vidarbha region family deity Muktabai Palakhi has started from Kothali village temple in MuktaiNagar and would reach Pandharpur in a month by barefoot travel of around 750kms. It is expected to reach there by 10th July.

National women's football competition preparations:
Jalgaon district association is first time conducting National Women football competition from 18th until 22nd June at District sports complex. Competition is expected to have participation of around 350 players from across the country, 50 referees.

Corporation avails Waghur water to Pimprala:
Pimprala Shivar was incorporated in Jalgaon Council in 1987 and since then it has been struggling for drinking water. Corporation has now availed Waghur dam water linkage to this region. Corporation has set up 28 Lakh liters capacity water storage tank in Dandekar Nagar and plans to avail daily supplies through this.

Raining continues to ease weather:

Entire region continues to witness shower to medium rainfall throughout district. This has led to significant lowering of temperature. Meteorological department statistics have revealed maximum raining of 10mm in Dharangaon yesterday. Until now district has a total rainfall of 2.28% to its average raining. Other taluka rainfall as under:
Pachora - 8mm, Erandol - 4mm, Chopda - 3mm, Bhadgaon - 2mm and Jalgaon - 0.4mm.

Madhukar achieves 5 Lakh tones sugarcane processing target:

Madhukar sugar factory faizpur has achieved its target of 5 Lakh tones of sugarcane processing for this season. It began processing on 12th November 2007 and has produced 532,725 sugar bags with 10.66% productivity count. Factory had sugarcane cultivation area of 9,600 hectares and this is its 32nd processing and is likely to discontinue its processing for this season by 10th June.

HSC results 2008 - Dhule's Swapnil Suryawanshi tops in Nashik division:

Maharashtra State Board for Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has announced HSC 2008 result yesterday. Z. B. Patil College Deopur Dhule student Swapnil Suryawanshi has topped in Khandesh by scoring 93.67% marks. Jalgaon's Urwanshi Rajendra Bhalode from M. J. College has scored 93% and topped Science faculty in division and district.
Jalgaon district's students have shown remarkable results this year with 96.53% result in Science, 87.21% in Arts, 85.79% in Commerce and 90.29% in MCVC. Kinhi (Bhusawal) student Mahendra Ramesh Mahajan has topped Arts faculty in division with 86.50% marks along with Swapna Sanjay Patil scoring 85.83% marks and securing second rank. This year result continues to reflect girls shining performance over boys. This year result has 88.67% Result for boys while 90.87% of girls.

Prof. Andhale poem selected for Class-III textbooks:
Maharashtra State education research council has selected Erandol based Prof. V. N. Andhale wrote Marathi poem "Dan" for Class-III Marathi medium Bal-Bharti book. The poem reflects influence of agricultural traditions on children. He is Vice Principal of Dharangaon Arts, Commerce and Science College and has been working in Marathi literary since last 20 years.

Khandesh MLA to meet President today:

Khandesh region all party MLAs' are meeting today with Her Excellency Pratibhatai Patil on various demands relating to formation of North Maharashtra Legislative council development corporation. Currently this region is in Rest of Maharashtra Legislative Development zone and has not received equal developmental funds to that of western Maharashtra areas. Today's representation aims at demanding referral from President to kick start this development.

Pre-monsoon raining continues - 5 more killed in lightning:
Entire Jalgaon district continues to witness pre-monsoon rainfall. Raining along with lightning took 5 lives and 4 animals and injured 5. Raining began in afternoon at 3:15PM and continued for around one hour. Lightning killings include one from Kasoda, Bambhori and two from Pimpri (Dharangaon). High wind flow also took off many trees thereby destructing routine road traffic.

Mid-night times Bhusawal - Surat Passenger cancelled for 3 days:
Central Railways Bhusawal division has cancelled 177 Bhusawal - Surat Passenger for 3 days until 07th June. This decision was announced following continued stir and violent protests ongoing in Rajasthan leading to diversion of all trains through Bhusawal. This has increased Surat - Bhusawal route traffic manifold leading to traffic issues.

JDCC Bank targets 340 Crores crop loan:
Jalgaon district's apex co-operative bank JDCC Bank has announced a target of 340 Crores of Crop Loan for Kharip season for 319,155 member farmers in district. It has distributed 3.15 Crores of Loans by now. Central Government's farmer debt waiver led to some confusions earlier leading to slower disposal of loans.

Pre-monsoon raining in district - one killed in lightning:

Whole Jalgaon district witnessed arrival of pre-monsoon raining yesterday evening. Raining continued for around half an hour. Raining began after huge lightning noise in many a region. Lightning killings has opened account with one killed in Vardi (Chopda). Last year district had 37 deaths due to lightning. Administration has announced installation of lightning arrestor kits at every Panchayat level to control these deaths. This order is yet to be implemented.

Corporation, Councils and Panchayats to register marriages:
Maharashtra State has recently ordered cancellation of existing marriages registration process and has powered Corporation, Councils and Panchayat in respective district to register marriages. This order came in effect on 01st May 2008 but none of the organisations have received any stationery and equipments with machinery to perform this task.

NMU Student welfare department conducted disaster management training:

North Maharashtra University Student welfare department is conducting 5 days special University level disaster management training program from 17th June. This would cover natural calamities like flooding, fire, earthquake and related manmade violence, wars and bomb explosions etc. Program aims at spreading student awareness and educating them with means of caution during such times and aiding society for benefits. In all 150 students would participate in program.

Jalgaon district receives 2,600 tones of fertilizers:
Jalgaon district is receiving 10:26:26 fertilisers 2,600 tones to handle with acute shortage in many regions. State Agricultural directorate has availed this special release. District has noted its demand of 360,250 tones fertilizers and pesticides for this season.

03rd June:
Farmers accuse District administrations of mishandling Airport land issue:

Jalgaon district farmers having land near proposed Jalgaon Airport site have blamed district administration of mishandling entire epic of buying land from them. Administration's proposed decision to acquire farmers land had categorically no discussions. Farmers group has demanded discussions first followed by rates announcement and then measuring lands to acquire. Protest measures include hunger strike stir if administration fails or denies doing so. Administration initiated discussions since November 2007 and failed to arrive at rates.
Amongst other demands include availing 1.5 times rates to farmers turning landless after this acquisition, availing 5 Lakhs per acre. Farmers have received Notices from land acquisition department of proposed land measuring from 02nd until 12th June. Administration has completed 60 hectares land measuring on first day of this drive.

Khandesh water conservation and storage means in Monsoon:
Tapi Irrigation development Corporation undertaken 13 projects in Tapi River zone are likely to receive good storage of water in this coming Monsoon. This includes Sulwade, Sarangkheda and Prakash barrages with expectations of 100%, a few with 50% and some with lower storage. Authorities estimate 394.65MLT of water storage in these dams to benefit around 20,000 hectares of cultivation area.
Tapi Corporation has received 385 Crores from Khandesh development funds, 132 Crores from Centre's AIBP scheme. Corporation has 79 small, medium and large projects approved under this grant.

Jalgaon to get new DSP:
Santosh Rustogi has been appointed as new District Superintendent of Police of Jalgaon District. Newly transferred list also includes Dhananjay Kulkarni appointed as Additional DSP. Both are arriving in Jalgaon on Wednesday.

02nd June:
Waghur dam - One small dam and so many demands:

Jalgaon district's water woes are well known and recalled every year. City has recently finished off its ambitious Waghur dam project. The dam right from beginning is under political pressure on water distribution. City's many areas still are not getting water from Waghur along with nearby areas.
Corporation's upcoming term election holds significant influence in dam supplies availability and as a result administration is in jolt to avail water. Jalgaon city adjoining and highway located areas like Khedi, Pimprala are in equal demands of this water. If such Water politics continues, Jalgaon could again see same 3-days alternate water supplies to that of today's daily supply. Visionary approach and work above political levels is demand of today's time to get rid of water woes.

Around 30,000 hectares cotton cultivation completed:
District's farmers have cultivated around 30,000 hectares of farms with cotton as a pre-measure for upcoming season. District Agricultural Office estimates this to be at 10,000 hectares more as compared to last year. Authorities have estimated around 415,800 hectares of Cotton cultivation in this coming Kharip season along with 322,800 hectares for grains and other seasonal crops.
District is receiving a special release of Girana dam water from 26th May and release would continue until 15th June to facilitate pre-measure preparations.

D. Ed. Government quota admission process from 07th June:
Diploma in Education Course State quota first year admission process is beginning from 07th June. Entire process would be channelled through State Committee for selection, decisions and control of D. NMU Sane Guruji Centre conducted National-level Story-reading training camp:
North Maharashtra University Sane Guruji Cultural centre and All India Sane Guruji Kathamala are jointly conducting 6 days national level story reading training camp from 03rd until 09th June. Camp has around 50-60 teachers from Maharashtra, Gujrat, Jharkhand, UP, MP, Karnataka, Goa and Chattisgarh.
Camp has ground, singing based story reading, group signing, play etc. with senior faculties as trainers. Please contact department for more details of participation.

Photo Identity card Electoral roll review process from today:
Taluka administration is conducting a review check on it recently prepared Electoral roll. This process would have office bearers visiting individual voters to verify authenticity and accuracy of newly prepared photo identity card of Jalgaon city and taluka. Process enables voters to fill in Form#8 in case any mistakes found. Administration has also urged new eligible voter to register their names in Tahsil office so as to get enrolled.

Fire at 3 places in Jalgaon and Asoda - losses worth 10 Lakhs estimated:
Jalgaon city's two location and nearby Asoda village's Savdekar Wada caught fire yesterday resulting in around 10 Lakhs losses and damages. Hari Vitthal Nagar based Wada adjoining to banana farm caught fire resulting in losses of around 1.50 Lakhs. This fire also caused death of 3 farm animals. In other incidence Jaikisan Wadi Jalgaon based Computer Hardware seller shop caught fire due to short circuit resulting in losses of around 5 Lakhs in form of machinery damages.
In third incidence Maiki region based 3 open farm stores in Savdekar Wada of Asoda village caught sudden fire in afternoon. This led to severe injuries to 4 animals and losses of around 3 Lakhs.

Jalgaon's left-handed bowler Jitendra Patil has been selected in Western divisional last-15 players for upcoming Under-19 Hemu Adhikari Trophy from 02nd until 26th June at Bangalore.

Jalgaon District Police has received repots of having Jalgaon District sports complex in SIMI's hit list. Police have intensified patrolling and security of this complex since last 5 days. It has also put in special layer all around city to strengthen security and capture offenders.

Corporation standing committee meeting review:
Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation standing committee met yesterday to discuss various topics on its agenda. Body has approved tender for GIS based satellite survey of Jalgaon city's around 90,000 properties, open plots. This would help administration to arrive at new taxing pattern for city. Corporation is expediting 70 Lakhs 20,000 Rupees (Rs. 78 per property) for this GIS based survey by Hyderabad based company.

Salute to spirituality: Jalgaon's Minaben Modi completes her 275 days fast and Vow of Silence:
Spirituality and power of soul in today's commerce driven sociology is all here. Jalgaon based Meena Narendra Modi (Age: 57) has completed her 275 days Jain Fast along with Vow of silence (Maun Vrat). She began has fast from 01st September 2007 and is at best of health. Her Pachakhavani (Process of concluding Jain Fast) is on Monday, 02nd June at her residence.

Raining in Bhusawal, Raver and Yaval:
Jalgaon district's Bhusawal, Raver and Yaval taluka witnessed sudden raining on Saturday evening. Raining eased humidity in climate and continued for around 15-20 minutes.
Raver taluka had medium heavy raining beginning around 4PM and continued for 20 minutes. Taluka's Karjod, Ahirwadi, Kerhale, Pimpri, Mohgan, Padle and Khanapur witnessed rainfall for around one hour.

Dream Mission - Debt Free farmers: State Co-operative Directorate urges for spreading farmer awareness:
State Co-operative Department directorate has ordered every district co-operative department office to spread awareness on Central Government's recently announced farmer debt waiver package and also distribute certificates to respective farmers. This debt waiver package would be implemented through District administration, co-operative banks and co-operative department. Centre has initiated its steps to avail and allocate funds for this waiver.
