28th June:
Co-operative depositors in financial pain over non-refund of deposits:

District's small savings segment is badly hurt after applying maximum possible efforts and legal angles to their co-operative societies trapped hard earned money. Region's large chunk of retired persons, small savers made large number of deposits with these societies on lure of 10-13% rate of interest during routine times. These societies in turn utilised this capital fund to avail loans to their favouring persons which finally turned default and outstanding.
This result in cash liquidity crunch to societies and failed them to repay deposit principals as well as due interest. This chaos spread further with dozing Co-operative department taking no stringent measures in spite of clear scene of falling future. Many of societies invested largely in building fixed assets like their own buildings and plush furniture in city's high commercial zone having maximum property rates.
Today there are thousands of depositors on a ray hope that someone of their public representatives would find some time to hear their woes and help in reaching stage where they could at least get back their principals invested. Co-operative sector having enjoyed this money has come together with strange demand of special package from State government to escape out. They have issued deadline of 20th July 2009 to State for this package failing which all societies would close down and keys would be handed to State. Most of defaults in these societies are co-relations of society board of directors and/ or individuals with political nexus to stay safe in-spite of much media promoted hay of State department likely actions.
This mayhem led to severe weakening of financial backbone of region and impacted overall money circulation and spending of medium class community. Issue has now reached its peak where there is a strong need of public demonstrations and protests on such a drastic disorder of bureaucracy and societies hurting democracy.

The way of Stress-Free Life (By Acharya Mahapragya):
Why are people moody? This happens because they have no control over their passions. We need to focus on overcoming our emotions and passions by practicing meditation. Physical stress can be removed with simple practices. Practice should ensure that mental tension is not created at all. By hearing some words, if tension is created, we should develop the right perspective to prevent tension. Three paths have been enumerated for attaining moksha or liberation.
a) Right perspective
b) Right knowledge
c) Right conduct

Tension occurs in the absence of right knowledge. By adding right speech to knowledge, our perspective would leave no scope for tension. Let's not blame anyone for anything. If we see the incident in the right way, tension will never arise. Otherwise, there is enough frivolous talk around us to cause agitation without any concrete reason. Man gets overwhelmed by his emotions. It is not by facts, but only by sheer imagination, that man gets filled with stress.

When someone says 'So-and-so is speaking such-and-such about you' we do not know for a fact if that person did say those things. But we get swayed by emotions that result from such an exchange.

Through analysis we will come to know that many tension-filled situations are created by imagination and unreal doubts. We can escape tension through right perspective. A person with right perspective, right knowledge and right conduct does not experience tension.

A person gets tense only when he is buffeted by his emotions. Through the practice of Preksha meditation, we can master the special technique of pacifying our emotions. We can see that they are not provoked. This, in itself, is adequate spiritual practice or sadhana. If someone asks you for the essence of Preksha meditation, your answer should be, "Subsiding of emotions". This is the core of Preksha meditation, the formula for a stress-free life.
