31st March:
Larsen and Tourbo wins Jalgaon – Amravati four lane highways development bid:
National Highways Authority of India yesterday opened up its bids received for Amravati to Jalgaon highways four lane work project. The L&T group has won this bid with 1,900 Crores investment for Amravati – Jalgaon and Rs. 2,700 Crores for Jalgaon to Navapur via Dhule. Dhule administration is hearing complaints and concerns of various farmers in the four-lane acquisition and road route.

RBI resumes JDCC Bank Banking license:

Reserve Bank of India has resumed Jalgaon district central co-operative bank’s Banking license following NABARD earlier sending its improved financial health reports and banking moving stronger against NPA. RBI wide Banking Regulations Act 1949 section 56(O) sub section 22(1) has resumed this banking license for JDCC Bank after a span of 14years. This would open up business banking area for JDCC Bank in Jalgaon district and would enhance its profits as well.

NMU senate approve Annual Budget with 8.78 Crores deficit:
North Maharashtra University Jalgaon senate and management council yesterday approved its annual budget with 871.11 Lakhs deficit for year 2012-13. The annual budget has 11,615.25 Lakhs as revenues generated wherein 12,493.36 Lakhs as expenditure side. It’s last year budget’s almost 95% schemes/ plans have been executed.
Key highlights of budget includes Earn and learn scheme with 60Lakhs provision, 10Lakhs for encouraging research works, 12 Lakhs for annual cultural eve, 20 Lakhs for various study centres and 348 Lakhs for 16 various educational department along with special provision of 79Lakhs for educational centres at Amalner, Dhule and NMU.

Deep Nagar thermal power station fifth unit turns functional:
Bhusawal thermal power station (BTPS) based fifth power generation unit testing completed successfully yesterday and unit is now fully functional with 508MW electricity generation. Unit is now connected to national grid and has turned to dream come true for Khandesh turning as major electricity generation unit of Maharashtra. This has empowered BTPS to avail additional 1,000MW electricity to Maharashtra.

30th March:
Corporation general body approves lease extension by 3years:
Jalgaon city municipal Corporation general body in its one of most historic decisions yesterday resolved to continue lease agreement of 8 shopping complexes for next 3years with nomination rise of 10% in rental charges. It also cancelled its earlier resolution dated 05th January 2012.
This resolution is ending on 31st March and has clear notice of vacating blocks thereby from administration. District court yesterday cancelled Corporation notice of reference and Court has ordered Corporation to clarify its stand before any execution after 01st April. Corporation administration has not accepted the general body decision stating that this would put Corporation in more financial troubles.

District administration estimates 1,770 Crores crop loan target for 2012-13:
Jalgaon district administration in its review meeting yesterday has set up ambitious target of 1,770 Crores crop loan for whole Jalgaon district for financial year 2012-13. This target has to be achieved through JDCC Bank along with all nationalised, private and co-operative banks. Administration has estimated 1,770 Crores for crop loans, 812 Crores for agricultural equipment and rest 465 Crores for other related references.
Administration has setup target of around 1,000 Crores to JDCC Bank for this year and JDCC Bank has distributed around 900 Crores in current year along with Central bank availing 41 Crores. District had target of 905 Crores in FY 2011-12 and has achieved 1,305 Crores.

29th March:
Corporation general body special meeting today on shops lease renewal:
Jalgaon city municipal Corporation general body is meeting today to discuss its stand on renewal of shopping complexes lease ending on 31st March amidst State CM decision to void last resolution of premium charging. Jalgaon district court would also hear plea of around 800 traders today on the same reference. Amongst other decisions includes decision on setting up bus stop near Mukhrjee garden for Chopda, Yaval and Mamurabad buses.

Banana jumps to Rs. 1,151 per quintal rate:
Khandesh region’s banana is at peak demands with lower flow of mango and other fruits. Madhya Pradesh based Burhanpur APMC on-going strike not to carry public auctions of banana has added to this aspect. Banana rate has risen by around Rs. 300 in last 4days and has reached 1,151 per quintal, which is highest in last 10months.

28th March:
State announces LBT implementation for Dhule, Malegaon and Sangli:
Maharashtra State government has announced implementation of local body tax at Dhule, Malegaon, Sangli and Ulhasnagar from 01st April 2012. This decision from State has come amidst existing Corporations having LBT noticing strong protest in Jalgaon and other Corporations. In spite of large protest and meets, State has not taken up this aspect in this Budget and from back foot has announced LBT implementation in these Corporations.
State proposal further mandates minimum Rs. 1,000 as LBT tax for traders in 1-5Lakhs trade and need of mandatory month return filling and empowers corporation officials to search/ survey offices in reference.

Saptashringi deity festivity from 30th March until 09th April:

Khandesh region’s family deity Goddess Saptashringi annual festivity is beginning from 30th March until 09th April at Nandurigarh. Pornima day remains major eve of the festival. State Road transport Corporation has announced additional buses for handling rush for the event and has announced buses taking until temple endpoint.

Dhule salutes its youth for zealous efforts and outshining results in PSI exam:
Dhule district has first time in its history witnessed sparkling success of its youth in MPSC PSI exam. In the result announced yesterday, district’s 42 aspirants have passed this exam with shining score and topping many lists. Monika Babulal More topped in State in scheduled Tribes category along with Bharat Chaudhari securing second rank in OBC category.

NMU signs MOU with Cayuga community college, USA:
North Maharashtra University yesterday signed memorandum of understanding with Cayuga community college New York. This would facilitate both institutions to have knowledge sharing and their students can even undergo Cayuga courses while taken NMU courses as per NMU credit system. 27th March:
Maharashtra Budget 2012-13:
Maharashtra Government budget 2012-13 was presented yesterday. Budget has provisions of setting up 4 new government medical hospitals each with 500 beds at Nandurbar, Satara, Alibaug and Mumbai. This budget has around 250 Crores provision for irrigation related projects of Jalgaon and 27 Crores road development projects under NABARD scheme. District’s 8 major projects have 11.3 Crores fund wherein upper Tapi project has 8 Crores, Padalsare dam has 25 Crores, 5 Crores for Waghur dam, 20 Crores for Kura-Wadoda, 10 Crores for Bodwad region and 50 Crores for Varangaon – Talvel project.
District’s 9 small projects have provision of 67.82 Crores that include Anjani dam – 17 Crores, Gul project – 29 Lakhs, Mangrul – 2 Crores, Mor project – 2 Crores. Dharangaon council administrative building works at 38.17 Lakhs have been provisioned along with Courts setup at Bhadgaon and Jamner.

Banana rates shoot following delayed arrival of mango:
District’s banana rates have seen sharp rise in last few days following delay in arrival of mango in good quantity. As a result, rate has gone up by Rs. 180 per quintal in last two days. Banana yesterday touched Rs. 1,025 per quintal with Rs. 25 difference factor. Banana was stable at Rs. 710 per quintal in last week and seen continuous rise thereby seeing this factor. Region is shipping around 20-25 trucks per day to northern India.

MPSC PSI exam result announced – Sandeep Patil secures second rank in State:
Maharashtra public services commission organised Police sub-inspector PSI exam result was announced yesterday. In all 1,869 candidates passed this exam from Maharashtra, which includes 142 candidates from Khandesh. Jalgaon’s 100 and Dhule 42 students have marked aggressive results. Dongaon, Dharangaon based Sandeep Atmaram Patil has secured second rank in Maharashtra along with Poonam Bhoi scoring securing second place in NT-B category. Yogita Baviskar scored third rank in State in girls (sports category).

Jain irrigation wins Corporate trophy T-20 championship:

Jalgaon based Jain irrigation cricket team has squashed Bhosale group organised Corporate trophy T-20 championship cricket competition at Pune defeating Mahesh Bank Pune by 37 runs. Team player Mansingh Nigade won man of the match award along with Azhar Ansari winning man of the series award and Vishant More won best batsman award.
Mahesh Bank team bowled first and kept good grip on Jain batsman. However, middle tire partnership took team to respectable score of 186 runs in 20 years. In response it restricted Mahesh Bank team on 149/8 runs in 20 overs. Team has won 1Lakh cash prize along with trophy, Man of series won 50,000 and trophy and best batsman won 25,000 cash and trophy along with man of the match winning Rs. 2,000 cheque and trophy.

Jalgaon’s identity as hottest summer zone is outshining every coming year. Mercury touched record high of 40.8 degrees yesterday amidst March yet to complete. Maharashtra State Budget today – traders expects smoothen of tax structure:
Maharashtra State Government is presenting its annual budget 2012-13 today. Once upon a time favourite trade destination Maharashtra is losing its shine on this aspect with complex multi-point taxing and no trade friendly systems in place. Maharashtra needs to evaluate and introduce fine balance of policies and taxation seeing neighbouring Gujarat as example.
Octroi followed by local body tax and now talked city development tax perspectives need to be well evaluated by governmental agencies before levying on trade systems. Technology should work as most dynamic friend of governmental agencies in real implementation and easing of taxation process as compared to current feeling of technology teasing traders and adding workload burden.

Bhadgaon based 19years Ravindra Prakash Wadekar has been selected in Rajasthan Royals team for upcoming fifth IPL tournament. He has moved for training at Jaipur beginning from 23rd March. Ravindra is 12th student and was selected in Bangalore team in last IPL.

T-20 cricket competition – Jain irrigation in finals:
Bhosale group Pune organised Corporate trophy cricket competition yesterday witnessed Jain irrigation Jalgaon team defeating Kirloskar Pune by 6 wickets to securing its place in finals. Jains team player Azhar Ansari won man of the match award. Jains bowled first and limited Kirloskar team on 89 runs in 17.4 overs with Azhar, Ghanshyam Chaudhari, Amit Patil and Vishal Bhilare each taking 2wickets. In reply, Jains scored this target in 15overs managing its critical score of 31/4 in 7overs. Azhar scored 34 unbeaten with Kunal chipping 35 to share 63 runs valuable partnership.

Her Excellency Pratibhatai Patil conferred D. Litt. Honour:

North Maharashtra University Jalgaon yesterday conferred honorary D. Litt. to Her Excellency Pratibhatai Patil in its annual convocation ceremony. In her speech during ceremony, she focussed need of continued evaluation youths for creativity enhancement, positive approach in society and continued efforts for applying new ideas. Country today expects India’s youth as its biggest asset in building nation with strong foundations and prosperity. Dr. Pratibhatai Patil equally focussed education as key tool to cultivate humbleness and soft gesture in minds thereby leading to excellent scientists, skilled human resource with knowledge as key input stream.

Gandhi Tirth inauguration today:
Gandhi Research foundation built Gandhi Tirth aimed in spreading Gandhian philosophy of non-violence in today’s youth is being inaugurated today by Her Excellency Dr. Pratibhatai Patil. RBI cancels banking license of Bhusawal People’s co-operative bank:
Reserve Bank of India wide its communication to Bank and public has announced cancelling of Banking license to Bhusawal People’s co-operative bank following no enhancement in its revenues and debt collections in spite of various impositions since October 2011. Bank has branches in Bhusawal, Jalgaon, Yaval, Faizpur, Bodwad and Varangaon. The co-operative Societies downfall led to strong outflows of deposits leading to liquidity crunch for bank and failing on outstanding dues collections bank entered in deadlock mode.

Jalgaon airport inaugurated:
Jalgaon’s wings of growth Jalgaon airport has taken its Muhurat yesterday with formal inauguration by Her Excellency Pratibhatai Patil. Her Excellency during the inaugural ceremony marked this inauguration as one of most touching moments for her as this is her native region and she has grown up, studied and worked in the region and this airport would add to agricultural, industrial and tourism development in Jalgaon district.
She quoted this would equally speed up travel and benefit agricultural commodities transporting and would set Jalgaon as favoured destination for Ajanta caves. Jalgaon not having airport was the only missing aspect in its infrastructural facilities and this addition has made it complete.
Central aviation minister quoted likely start of commercial services from Jalgaon airport to Indore, Aurangabad, Mumbai and Pune. He stressed need of five star rating Hotels in Jalgaon for boosting tourism here and expressed interest in AAI venturing land for setting up such hotels and AAI plan for setting up air cargo hub. Second phase work would begin post evaluation of response in first phase start up.

State suspends 8 complexes lease renewal resolution:
State government yesterday suspended Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation general body resolution of charging lease renewal premium in its owned 8 shopping complexes on legal grounds. Earlier corporation body approved resolution offering 50 years and 99 years lease renewal by charging premium to blocks owner. It has given 30 days’ time to Corporation administration to justify its stand for likely roll back of this decision. Corporation has announced its general body meeting on this reference on 29th March.

Padwa celebrated across region:
Hindu New year Gudi Padwa festivity was celebrated with cheer and enthusiasm all across region  yesterday. Gudi in every house, worshipping, procession and various religious activities on eve marked the day. The traditional Ram Navami festivity has also begun with this festival. Jalgaon airport inauguration and second phase works foundation stone laying today:
Her Excellency President of India and Khandesh daughter Pratibhatai Patil is inaugurating Jalgaon Airport today. This would follow inauguration of Jalgaon airport’s second phase works to extend its airstrip for accommodating landing and take-off of bigger airplanes.  Jalgaon airport inauguration is a dream come true for region having waited for 40 years of span to get this wing to its growth. Inaugural ceremony will have State Governor, Central aviation minister amongst other guests.
Jalgaon airport foundation stone was laid on 18th November 1971 and later on 18th May 1973, was acquired by Municipal Council on 04th April 1997, and later was shifted to State airport development Company on 23rd April 2007. This followed Airport authority of India acquisition on 28th July 2009 to boost the development. Jalgaon airport both phases have estimate of 325 Crores. Her Excellency laid foundation stone for Airport work on 13th June 2010. Air India, Jet Airways are amongst front-runner airlines to take survey of Jalgaon airport commercial aspects to start their flights post inauguration.

Jalgaon airport – key features and highlights:
Jalgaon airport is going public today with formal inauguration ceremony by hands of Khandesh daughter Her Excellency Pratibhatai Patil today. Jalgaon Airport has working area, terminal building and car parking areas having water conservation and harvesting mechanism, focuses more use of solar energy with automated battery backup system, has green zone developed in airport periphery to ease airplanes landing, and take-off noise factor.
Airport passenger area has fully air conditioned waiting of 50 passengers, reserved lounge, public addressing system and dedicated electricity supplies with 50 cars parking bay. It has 2 ATR airplanes parking and apron area and latest aircraft operations system installed.

Jalgaon court is hearing traders filed plea on Corporation’s shopping complexes lease renewal premium on 28th March. It yesterday heard both Corporation and traders legal parties in reference and has posted next date for continuing the same. There are around 750 traders having filled this petition in the Court against Corporation premium charging.

22nd March:
Corporation to conduct special meeting for shopping complexes lease renewal:

Jalgaon city municipal corporation is conducting likely special meeting on 29th March to review its earlier resolution of shopping complexes lease renewal premium. Earlier it kept this meeting on 07th March and failed to arrive at negotiation with traders owning blocks. Earlier State CM intervened in the matter following traders request to review and called details from Corporation. General body stand on aspect would turn significant aspect amidst Corporation lease ending on 31st March.

District Police Presidential tour mega trial today:

Jalgaon district Police is all set to review its preparations amidst upcoming presidential tour beginning tomorrow. Jalgaon district police has addition of 113 officers, 600 staffing. Divisional Inspector General of Police is also in Jalgaon to review this arrangement.

21st March:
Corporation General body approves 611 Crores annual budget:

Jalgaon city municipal Corporation general body yesterday approved 611 Crores amount based annual budget 2012-13. This budget’s special features include setting up of water recycling plant to recycle 20% of wastewater for general use and special provision of Rs. 2 Crores for new fish market in city. Budget has imposed waste disposal tax of Rs. 30 to 250 on hotels, bear bars, public function halls, Lawns, Sweet marts, restaurant, beef sellers registered in Jalgaon city. It also proposes to repay one Crore per month to JDCC Bank.
Revenue side includes 80 Crores from LBT tax, 415.29 Crores from various governmental grants, 33.57 Crores from property tax, 22.53 Crores from open plots tax, 23.58 Crores from water tax, 22.48 Crores from market fees and 14 Crores from escort fees.
Expenditure side broadly includes 50.88 Crores for employees’ salary, 33.65 Crores from roads repairs and new works, 38.71 Crores on capital investment, 12.50 Crores on pension fund and rest 472.49 Crores on various schemes.

Presidential Jalgaon tour confirmed:
Her Excellency President of India Pratibhatai Patil’s 3-days Jalgaon tour has been confirmed for period from 23rd until 25th March. This is likely last tour to hometown amidst Presidential tenure ending in July 2012. Tour begins with Jalgaon airport inauguration and laying foundation stone for second phase works and has NMU convocation ceremony offering D. Lit to Her Excellency as second biggest eve. Centre has approved 142 Crores special fund to Khandesh amidst Presidential tour. This includes 61 Lakhs for Waghur, 47 lakhs for Punand and 38 Crores for Akkalpada dam works.
Meanwhile AAI authorities yesterday successfully completed testing of 70 seats Boeing and Embraer planes during afternoon period from 3.30 until 5pm. Both testing completed with accuracy and authorities have marked it excellent state for use. Inauguration preparations have begun here now with decoration of the airport. Jalgaon airport has now been taken in control by IB authorities for presidential security review purposes.
Tour’s biggest attraction is President’s Aeroplane would take-off from Delhi at 9.05AM and would directly land on Jalgaon airport at around 12.10pm. Jalgaon airport inauguration is scheduled at 12.17PM on same day followed by her visit to relative on 4.45pm in Navi Peth area. Ajanta Guest house has been revamped to accommodate her whole team during 3 days.
Second day plans include visit to NMU at 10.35AM and to attend convocation until 12.25pm and has inauguration of M. J. College new building from 5.50pm until 7pm. Last day events include inauguration of Gandhi Research Foundation at 10.10am and participate in programme until 1.30pm. This follows visit to Bambhori Engineering College from 1.55pm until 2.30pm and ends with returning to Jalgaon airport for take-off to Delhi.

Highways four lane works updated ecology survey report ready:
District administration ordered ecology survey review report for Jalgaon highways four lane work is ready. Updated review report from national highway authority of India would reach district administration in a week time. Concerns on MIDC pipelines shifting, Nashirabad and Fekari region land acquisition and alike aspects are on high aspect for region. Administration has ordered next hearing on 28th March.

Jalgaon ZP head and deputy election today:

Jalgaon district council (ZP) Head and Deputy election process is being done today. Earlier BJP and Shivsena have announced their formal alliance for the ZP ruling to form majority. BJP has 23 and Shivsena has 15 members in 68 members Jalgaon ZP.

Jalgaon airport Boeing-72 and Embraer airplanes trial run today:
Her Excellency President of India is in Jalgaon from 23rd until 25th March and would inaugurate Jalgaon airport on 23rd March. AAI authorities have reported likely testing of Boeing-72 and Embraer Airplanes for landing and take-off from Jalgaon airport today morning. Central authorities would review this landing and take-off report and would give go ahead for it to Presidential tour arrival means as well as opening up of Jalgaon airport.
Meanwhile district administration has also made adequate arrangements for tour and has over 100 cars/ vehicles taken for smooth conduct of the whole tour.

NMU to become first university in State to honour President of India:

North Maharashtra University’s upcoming D. Lit. Honour to Her Excellency President of India has taken it in new hall of fame of becoming first University in Maharashtra to do so. NMU has made all preparations for the eve on 24th March. Ajanta rifle club conducted district shooting competition:
Ajanta Rifle club Jalgaon oragnised two-days district level shooting competition ended yesterday. Wasim Tadvi, Dikshant Jadhav and Bhushan Sonawane won gold medals in their respective category. Central Government annual budget announced doubling of import duty on gold from existing 2% and 1% tax on imitation jewellery has received sharp protest from jewellers across country. Jewellers have marked this taxing as additional burden that would badly affect this trade and inflate prices of both commodities. Jewellers across India have called nationwide strike from 17th until 19th March and have kept all trade/ retail closed.

State Scholarship exam today:
Maharashtra State exam council Pune is conducting Class IV and VII Scholarship exam today in whole Khandesh. There are 173 centres for pre-secondary scholarship and 120 for secondary scholarship exam for 60,473 students appearing from Jalgaon. Railways annual budget 2012 disappoints Khandesh:
Railways annual budget 2012 has yet again throwing disappointment for region with almost nothing coming to its hands as yield. Budget has announcement of 22 new express trains passing from Maharashtra and has only announcement of Dhule – Amalner, Malegaon – Dhule and Manmad – Indore routes valuation and reporting to planning commission. It has announced completion of Udhana – Jalgaon (part 1) and Dharangaon – Paldhi routes line doubling in year 2012-13.Other proposal includes reviewing starting up of Bhusawal – Hazrat Nizzamuddin – Raigad express train. There is no concrete fund allocation in the budget for quick completion of Udhana – Jalgaon line and other announcements might take lot of time to execute as well. Also most of announcements are reformatting of earlier budget announcements and have never executed. Last year announced Bhusawal – Jalgaon railways line tripling is yet to be executed.

New fish market in Jalgaon city:
Maharashtra fishery development corporation has received approval for setting up 1.90 Crores cost based one acre land based fish market behind Shahu Maharaj complex in Jalgaon city. Tendering process has completed and it would take 18 months completion time for the same. Corporation forwarded this proposal to State and has 90% grants from State. Proposed market will have 50 stalls, cold storage, wastewater management and other facilities.

Waghur dam eases Jalgaon city’s drinking water woes:
Jalgaon city drinking water supplying Waghur dam has storage of 22.18% water. This would avail drinking supplies of almost next one year to Jalgaon city even if lower monsoon is witnessed in coming times. Administration has reserved storage for Jalgaon city and Jamner drinking water purposes until 15th July and has shown readiness to avail one release of water for summer cotton yields.
Waghur dam avails drinking water supplies to Jalgaon city, Jamner council and Neri along with eight villages. Jalgaon city currently gets alternate day water supplies.

Jalgaon boys have dominated MCA open category 3-days test match played at Dhule by defeating Nandurbar team by one inning and 113 runs. Jalgaon has scored 6 points including bonus marks. Jalgaon declared its batting on 481/6 in 125 overs with Shrirang Kapse scoring 206 runs, Shashank Attarde scoring 150 runs and Varun Deshpande scoring 53 runs.
In reply, Jalgaon bowled out Nandurbar on 209 runs with its bowler Shashank Attarde taking 5 wickets, Sachin Chaudhari taking 3 and Nikhil Patil taking 2 wickets. Jalgaon availed follow on to Nandurbar trailing by 272 runs. In reply, Nandurbar could not sustain pressure and were bowled on mere 159 runs. Summer drinking water woes likely in 130 villages:
Jalgaon district’s 130 villages are in likely drinking water shortages list during peak summer time ahead. Administration has prepared 1.08 Crores cost based action plan to ease this likely shortage. Plans include acquiring 70 well in the affection area, 8 villages on tanker supplies and have Amalner Taluka as most affected Tahsil. Erandol Tahsil water level has dipped by 0.14% and Amalner level is down by 0.04%.

Khandesh ginning and pressing calls for two days strike from today protesting ban on exports:
Khandesh cotton ginning and pressing association has unanimously announced its decision to have two days protest strike of all its member unit marking centre decision on ban of exports of cotton as anti-trade leading to their downfall. Association further expressed its unhappiness on government double turn policies whispering encouragement on one side and getting down to textile industry on other side. Ban on cotton exports would lead to sharp decline in cotton rates forcing ginning and pressing units to sell at much lowered rates to Indian textile units.
Association has announced continued participation in its State counterpart convention on 08th April and has decided to take membership of all India ginning association. Association members further revealed fact that around 50% cotton is still lying with farmers and this decision would lead to strong repulsion for farmers as well as ginning units. Both BJP and Shivsena have supported this protest on ban and have announced district wide roads blocking today marking its protest.

Directorate General of foreign trade India announces ban on cotton exports:

Government of India directorate generate of foreign trade yesterday announced immediate imposition on ban on exports of cotton  variety# 5201 (cotton not carded nor combed) and variety# 5203 (cotton carded or combed) until further notification. This ban is applicable for all including export license holders and those doing it under transitional arrangements. Large exports to China and other countries have led to likely troubles for textiles segment in India.
This ban would largely affect Khandesh region economy having large number of ginning and cotton pressing mills. It has also led to immediate lowering of cotton rates to Rs. 3,200 to 3,500 per quintal depending on quality of cotton.

Corporation shopping complexes lease renewal terms reconsideration:
Jalgaon city municipal corporation general body is meeting tomorrow at 10am and has shopping complexes lease renewal premium charges as one of key consideration in its agenda. However Corporation administration has posted its strategy on the reference marking legal angle of no possibility of changing general body meeting resolution in 3months immediate frame. Precious stones buried collection found near Pachora:

Pachora Taluka based Vakadi shivar based well digging has opened up a buried collection of precious diamond alike stones large collection kept inside it. Tahsil administration has assessed the location and has stopped further digging work and taken the area in its possession. Administration has reported this collection as precious stones found after digging around 15-20 feet below ground levels found in a private ownership and later dig up to 35 feet.

Maharashtra State Election Commission has announced conducting election for 15 Panchayat committee heads on 14th March followed by ZP President election on 21st March 2012. District administration has received order in the reference. Meanwhile both BJP and Shivsena are yet to announce their alliance for ruling as majority party in ZP. NCP is second largest party likely to form ruling equations with help of other parties.

Deep Nagar project based fifth electricity generation unit begins functioning:
Bhusawal thermal power station based in Deep Nagar has initiated election generation in its newly setup fifth unit. The fifth set generated 45MW electricity on first day and is now connected with national grid. This set has capacity of 500MW electricity generation and would take few more days for full-fledged generation.
This unit was initiated in February-2008 and has witnessed 3 years of untiring efforts and many hurdles to arrive at completion. This project’s second part would likely be activated by next March. Both units would avail around 1000MW electricity to Maharashtra, as they turn fully functional.

Muktai Saras glees cultural extravaganza of Khandesh:

The on-going Khandesh cultural festival ‘Muktai Saras 2012’ is at its peak and is demonstrating rich heritage of Khandesh in various cultural events. Evening time witnesses flooding response of visitors on stalls and viewing cultural events thereby. There are 210 stalls in the event with 72-stall offering, various delightful dishes from region and 138 offering various related literary and most of them are from small savings women groups.
Event has district’s 4 major divisions cricket competition on Sunday, 04th March. The tennis ball competition is at police parade ground and has district police, revenue, district council and corporation officials in teams.

Gold and silver witness strong variation:
Both Gold and silver are witnessing strong ups and downs in rate since last 3days. Yesterday silver suddenly shot up by Rs. 1,200 per kilogram and closed on Rs. 60,700 per kilogram wherein gold dipped down to 28,650 per 10gms yesterday.

Corporation eases stand on shopping complexes lease renewal:

Jalgaon city municipal corporation has taken up review of its decision and resolution on premium rates for its owned shopping complexes. The on-going tussle in traders and Corporation on grounds of its notice to vacate blocks by 31st March if unpaid raised strong protest and rage. This stir went further with traders marking a day protest strike, calling protest march to Collectorate and even taking issue to State level. Corporation general body is meeting on Wednesday, 07th March to arrive at decision on the reference.
Corporation has to pay HUDCO debt of 90 Crores as per its recent onetime settlement, which has clause of paying 45 Crores by 31st March and rest 45 Crores by June end. Lease renewal includes 1,575 blocks from Fule Market, Central Fule Market, B. J. Market, Ambedkar Market and Bhoite Market. Traders have urged corporation to look for 50years lease renewal with 10% rental growth every 10years.

NMU Computer Science department organised national conference from 16th March:
North Maharashtra university department of computer science is organising 2days national conference on Advances in computing. This is second consecutive series of this conference since last year. Conference received 50 paper presentations last year and all selected papers would be published in international journal advances in computational research. Refer NMU website for details.

Maharashtra State board of secondary education conducted SSC exam 2012 is beginning today throughout Maharashtra. There are 60,765 students appearing from Jalgaon at 118 centres, 28,749 students from Dhule at 58 centres and 19,099 students at Nandurbar on 25 exam centres. Khandesh cultural festival begins today:
District rural development organisation conducted golden jubilee rural employment scheme promoting self-help and small savings group encouraging third Khandesh cultural festival is beginning today at Sagar park on Mahabal road. The five days event is being inaugurated today afternoon at 3pm and has various cultural programmes from 6pm to 9.30pm every day. Muktai exhibition having women savings groups made items and foodstuff is one of key attractions of the event.

Gold crosses 29,000 silver touches 60,000 mark:
Precious metal segment yesterday marked strong demands from industrial segment leading to sharp rise in silver by around 2,000 closing at Rs. 61,000 per kilogram wherein gold noticed rise of around 150 Rupees to close at 29,400 per 10gms. Silver has reached its last 7months highest.

District Collectorate hearing on Highways four lane work:
Jalgaon district administration yesterday conducted public hearing of all grievances received on Jalgaon – Dhule – Nandurbar national highways four lane work. Villagers’ larger protest marking not consideration of various key aspects during survey reporting has made authorities announce revision in survey on reported aspects. Administration has announced next hearing on 28th March and has called review survey of environmental impact assessment.
Natives have made a special quote of not having any opposition to four-lane work but at same moment want their critical aspects to be well addressed. Their complaint also includes special mention on impact on ecology with this addition and has quoted surveying company using older data to analyse aspects. It also included demand to have special care of Eklagna (Erandol) and Karanji (Parola) based forestry area during this four lane work. Complainant have made strong protest to survey quoting need of cutting down 14,534 trees on the road for this work and have estimated figures to be much higher than officially quoted. Nashirabad villagers demanded equal acquisition of both side of existing road land.
